Beginning the Psychodrama – Walk and Talk, Contracting and Where to Start

Map Unavailable

Dates: May 7, 2021
Times:10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Walk and Talk allows both the protagonist and director to create a therapeutic bond, decide what the protagonist would like to get out of the psychodrama (contracting) and informs them – and the group – where to start.  In addition, it is the first step into the surplus reality of the psychodrama, as well as the entry into the “psychodramatic trance” that allows healing to occur.

In this third virtual training in the Psychodrama Nuts and Bolts Series, we will explore the important elements of facilitating an effective walk and talk,  and creating and agreeing upon a realistic and achievable contract.  For many directors, the transition from walk and talk to first scene is challenging, so we will explore the importance of the director listening for cues and metaphor to determine a starting point for the drama.
